What people seem not to know when they look into this artwork for meaning is its usually outsourced to some design shop, with a request that's something like "we need a graphic this size, that has to be colorful, about music, movies, technology, and an apple logo".... No inside knowlege, no meaning. Just good design.

I've just taken some more.
It reminds me of Adobe CS3 packages :)

Retina iPad, Retina Mac's. And maybe the iPad will come in an as many colors as the nano.

And the iPad will not just have red, green and blue pixels ,but also a yellow pixel.

Something to "see". And "touch". HHmmm.

See = Retina display.
Touch = Available today??? (Day of announcement.)

I know, I know, this is off topic, but please permit me to say one thing.

It looks so warm there compared to here in Alaska. :There aren't even 10 ft+ piles of snow...

It looks like the big announcement on Wed is that Apple will re-issue MacPaint! Ha.

I’d welcome that actually. :)

My prediction is an HD screen that's capacitive and pressure sensitive, appealing to artists and opening up possibilities for game design... "see... And touch."

As an artist, pressure sensitivity is something I’d value even more than a retina display.

Yes, I’m reminded of Adobe as well. So I’m hoping this announcement will cater in some way to artists, painters, creative types.

Great shots by the way. Thank you for posting them! :)

all new color models for iPads!

I doubt they would go for a total range of color but I could see them doing a limited edition RED model with the black and white

ahhh. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than to sit and watch a banner slowly take shape.

Why not, these are the same type of folks that will sit all night to be first at the store or at least stay up for preorders to start on line

----------

Somewhat ironic that Apple builds transparent stores made of glass, but covers up all the glass at the Yerba Buena Center for their announcement.

It's a 'blackout' banner. Just like they do at the stores for some launches. That's also why it goes up 5 days ahead. gives them time to bring in whatever they need to set up their areas

----------

So is anyone else hoping someone other than Tim Cook will give the keynote?

This is a product keynote not a tent revival. Ben Stein could give it and it will still be amazing cause everyone will be talking about the products, not the presenter

----------

i want a yellow smart cover

I want some different colors for sure. The Black, Red and Greys are fine, the tans okay. But those easter egg colors are so old. Give us some bolder colors like from the nanos a couple of years back.

iPad3 with touch sensitivty on Retina screen?

Seeing the brush strokes on that mural makes me wonder if they will surprise us with touch sensitivity like a Wacom tablet.

If only the Keynote wasn't scheduled for 2am Perth time...

I could either get a good night's sleep or watch all of the goodness as it unfolds and potentially fall asleep at uni...

Decisions, decisions... :p

I actually had a dream about different color smart covers a few weeks back and I can confirm they look pretty cool, might photoshop them to see what they look like next to the iPad

Also, to everyone that thinks multiple colored iPads or there is something hidden in the banner, I don't think apple would ever consider doing different color iPads, first of all, they would look very weird, and then if you added, lets say the colors of the nano chromatic, you end up with 81 different models, which would be a pain to keep track of and for resellers that only have room for 100 or so. As to something hidden in the banner, I see an eye, but that could mean retina display, or its just there, not meaning anything. Apple has always done these colorful wallpapers for their iPad events.

I like that finished logo, but why did they hang yellow paper at all?

----------

The colors are the same as used in the original 'rainbow' Apple logo, right?

There aren't that many colors to use when you want a colorful banner lol, I doubt it's a throw back to the Rainbow Apple logo.

Well, I'm also predicting something related to artists. This kind of screen resolution is paving way for serious graphic design Apps. Now that Steve Jobs is gone, they might finally listen to artists and release an optional stylus (with pressure sensitivity and palm rejection)! ;)

I'm SOOOO hoping for a stylus to finally draw and design without paper anywhere. That would be a dream come true! If so, Wacom can kiss their Cintiq goodbye. :)

YAY! I knew the rainbow apple would return with Tim Cook :D

Ok but in all seriousness, I wish it would. I miss it.

Really great shots. Thanks for posting.

Really great shots. The blue sky is an amazing shade.
