given that the iPad is only going on sale at 5pm, you'd have to hang around for a couple of hours...

You can't just walk in and buy one? Really?

Seriously though. Where is the best place to buy one? I actually live in the East Bay, and Emeryville blows. In the past I have gone to Palo Alto. Walnut Creek is too small. The city is too packed and cold with no parking. Am I missing a good store to kick it at in the Bay Area?

There's a small Apple store in the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto.

Walnut Creek is an insanely busy store... They always get fantastic shipping quantities. And right now the light is not that long, maybe 50...

There's Stonetown Mall, over by San Francisco State. I think it's off the 280. That's about it for apple stores in SF that I know of :-(

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

San Mateo (Hillsdale Mall). I would say about 150-175 people are on line.
