Sky Gamblers, Fighter Jet Sim From iPad 3 Demo, Goes Live






One of the next-generation apps demonstrated during Apple's iPad 3 introduction has just gone live on the App Store.

Namco Bandai's Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy is an iOS-exclusive 3D dogfighting sim that uses multi-touch and the gyroscopes within the iPad and iPhone to full effect, along with taking full advantage of the new iPad's Retina display.

I did not like the demo, the gameplay looks boring.

Seeing as how this is made by Namco, I'm surprised they didn't make it into a new Ace Combat.

can't say that this look particularly fun. in the future real 3D iPad gaming will come from services like onlive.

Onlive can exist where the data connection is strong, but the device is not powerful enough to run the game. That is a narrow window, one that will close.

yeah that is the only issue. It just offers so much more than games like this. The other issue for both paths is battery life of course... and that is a big issue.

Controls are a little awkward but not too bad. Fun distraction for a few bucks.

Playing this game using the accelerometer gave me motion sickness and weird ergonomics related cramps. Would recommend not using these controls.
