The queue goes by Gregg's/HMV. Going back to the Car Park and the market entrance.
In October for the 4S, Apple had loads of staff filtering us through when the centre opened, making sure that no queue cutters were around.

Fingers crossed its the same this year!

Does anyone know where the queue will actually start? We'll be in the Arndale from about 4pm on thursday staying overnight to wait it out.

Not sure if this helps,

but about a year or two ago i queued up for a jeremy kyle book signing with my grandma (dont judge me i was just escorting her)

anyways, the arndale staff have a set procedure for high profile events (assuming it will be the same for the iPad launch).

The doors to the arndale open earlier than the stores anyway (due to the indoor markets that sell handbags, phone accessories etc, some of you will be familiar with this) so the waiting for the arndale to open before the apple shop will not be a problem.

Then the outside of the apple store will be supervised by arndale staff with a barrier set up to ensure people form an orderly queue (this is what they did at the book signing anyway).

From memory the doors arndale open at the same time as the foodcourt, from memory thats about 7ish. although the shops dont open till 9am, the apple shop may open at 8am that day though, although, as i used to work in the tesco on market street, the shops in manchester are obliged by law to only trade at specified times, so not sure apple would be able to open earlier without special permission, which they probably have.

I was thinking of getting there at 6am-ish, although part of me thinks that may be too late!

I rang the apple store and there selling them at 8am

and he said to que 2 hours before that to have a chance of getting one because they don't know how many there receiving . But think I'm gonna que from around 3am - 4am to make sure

Glad to finally get some news from the store itself... I'll be in the city center from about 2-3pm today... we're just gonna eat and look around the shops until the evening... then queue. Hopefully its going to be fun... I intend to buy lots of candy/food.

I finish work late so I can't get there till like 2-3 tonight but do we que at greggs hmv entrance ? I hope they don't sell out before I get mine haha what model is everyone after ? I want the white 16gb 4g

White 4G. 32 or 64gb, not sure yet how much I want to spend.

Also yea in general to confirm, what door does everyone thinks best we queue at?
I'm thinking about getting there for about 4am.

I decided to que early and there's like 10people here at the hmv gregs entrance

I've been stuck waiting for a bus in Fallowfield for 30 minutes. Hope one comes soon lol. Can't wait to wait

Actully shocked only 6 people were at my TESCO, and they only received 5 luckily i had first dibs.

I started queueing at about 3am and was about 20th in the queue in the end. I walked away with my iPad by 8:30am and had my picture taken by some guy who works for apple.

A fun morning was had.
