I want to know what the best remote desktop solution for PC and/or MAC is.
I know theres Logmein, VNC, and a few others, but want to know what app you use and prefer. Preferably free, but if you have to pay a little.. but worth it.. its okay.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B179 Safari/7534.48.3)

Logmein.com FTW.

Agreed. You don't have to mess with opening ports on the router and you can access with just a web browser if you are without an iPad/iPhone. It's totally free too just be sure to disable the pro version for each computer you setup. I would not use anything else IMO. Logmein.com is for real.

I always found Splashtop the most responsive when I tried out some free versions and such, and its also far cheaper than all the others.

Surely the $15-$100 have some advantage I'm not aware of though... file access options perhaps?

So obviously Im no expert, but Ill endorse Splashtop as an excellent app anyway.

the only problem right now with splashtop is that it doesn't take advantage of the higher resolution on the ipad 3. me thinks an update is coming soon.

IMHO, TeamViewer is the most convenient solution for the end users and pros alike. Also, free Rove Mobile Admin app includes SSH/Telnet/RDP components.

I was just going to suggest TeamViewer. IMO the best and easiest to use.

I only use Splashtop within my wifi network so not sure over 3/4G, but I love the app. I watch flash videos without any issues.

I have Slashtop but never could get it to work right unless I was on same network. Also have Logmein, not the biggest fan of the controls but at least it's free now. Prefer Teamviewer, also free.

I use LogMeIn Ignition. I got it when it was $19.99 but now it goes for $99.99.

Another vote for Logmein Ignition. It just rocks it especially if you have Logmein Pro on the client machine.

Did anyone actually find flaws with the other apps people are bringing up, or did they just like the one they used and go with it?

Is there something Im missing with splashtop? No problems connecting from another network for me.

Another vote for Jump Desktop.

Curious, while we have all this collective experience here, is there a RDP package that has keystroke macro capability?

SPLASHTOP!!! ;)

WAY cheaper then LogMeIn or any others and Works just as good if not better and for $3 bucks (sometimes a buck if you catch it when on sale)

The latest updates gives SO many new navigating options.

I use iTap RDP. You need to turn on Remote Desktop Sharing in your PC and open ports, but the App runs great, and I've got a pretty decent upstream connection on my home computer so it isn't much of an issue, seems to run smooth and be responsive.
