Snow Leopard email problem

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.2; en-gb; Desire_A8181 Build/FRG83G) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Can't send or receive emails on Mac. Keeps asking for password. Says something about moved mobileme. Why can't I get my emails unless in icloud? Do I need to upgrade to Lion?

MobileMe is going away this year. You're going to have to move to iCloud eventually.

Have tried a new way and now have iCloud bringing in my emails to my Mac so I think I'm sorted though haven't been able to get them on my HTC. Will have to resign myself to the fact that it would have made sense to get an iPhone rather than a HTC!!!
