The iPod I have described in my signature is the one that I'm talking about. I know how to copy files and stuff, but when I view the iPod stuff under:
/Volumes/[iPod Name]/iPod_Control/Music
all I get is random strings of letters, and normally hidden files. The normally hidden files' names are comprised of just dots when I do ls -a.

Short answer, no. You have to drag the songs into itunes for the names to be turned back in to actual song names. The way the iOS song naming convention is set up there is no way to view the song names in Terminal.
