I have a MacPro running OS 10.7.3 and connected to the internet via a wired ethernet.

In the System - Preferences - Date and Time - Time Zone the "Set time zone automatically using current location" was selected. However, there was also a message that said to turn on the WiFi connection to determine the current location.

Why is a WiFi connection to my router needed in order to determine my computer's current location?
