Curious how the basic apps like Safari, Quicktime & iTunes are working thus far on the $999 version of the MBA with ML. Will 2 gb of RAM be enough for basic tasks like surfing, mail watching streaming video?

ML uses about 1.2 GB RAM after booting and the fast SSD access rates compensate swap file usage quite a bit (just like in Lion). I'd say it doesn't perform much worse than Lion. Just keep in mind that ML DP2 is a beta version that still contains some bugs.

However, I strongly suggest to create a bootable Lion USB Installer Thumb Drive because the ML installer overwrites your current Lion recovery partition with a ML recovery partition.
