Im considering an iPad and would likely get the Apple Pages app. However, I dont have the wireless printer for direct printing and my regular PC is a Windows XP netbook :p

If I ever wanted to print from Pages (I don't really print much), I think the best option would be to export/email the Pages document as a PDF and email it to my XP netbook to print.

So my question is, would my Win XP netbook have any problems with the formatting/display and printing of the PDF files created and exported from pages - from simple text documents to more complex files with pictures and other symbols/graphics/charts etc?

I suppose I could also export as .doc and use Google Docs or Windows Live Skydrive Word. Exporting to PDF is a feature of a lot of graphical apps on iPad, would they likely all display fine as a PDF file?

:)

Thanks.

Just a thought, but I wonder if any Pages users here would be willing to email/Export a couple of the Pages Templates in PDF to me to try out? One with simple text, perhaps one of the formal letter templates and another of the templates with complex text formatting with pictures/charts??? :)

Thankyou, that is very kind of you. :) I opened them in Adobe Reader 9 on my Win XP netbook, and they seemed OK, although the text looked slightly bolder in Adobe compared to the Dropbox preview.

Why don't you just use AirPrint. Your printer does not need to be compatible to use it. Check this link, my unsupported printer works just find on my hacktivator AirPrint.
