2011 MacBook Pro not sleeping with external monitor

So I recently have my MBP hooked up to a 23 inch LED. However, I notice when it goes to sleep, it doesn't fully sleep. The front LED doesn't pulsate like it use to and it is reporting it's location on the find my iPhone app. I've done some searching and there is no print jobs that are stuck in queue. Any thing else? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem here. It supposedly goes to sleep, but it keeps getting hotter in my backpack and when I try to turn it on I have to forcefulyl reboot it to get back to the system
