Since Microsoft is offering the free Xbox again for back to school, anyone have any thoughts on what Apple may offer this year?:apple:
Not sure of actual numbers but it seems with so many iPhones these days iPod sales may be down(?), you think they will possibly give those away?:apple:

Look for the same as last year, $100 Mac App Store gift card.

Apple has had the same educational discount for a very long time. In comparison to the offers made by other computer manufacturers, and the price tag of a Mac, Apple's deal is kind of a joke in my opinion. But if you can save $100, there is nothing wrong in that.

Apple doesn't need to give anything away since people actually want their products. MS does the Xbox deal ($199 retail btw, so only an extra 100 bucks) which is actually worse in my opinion. If you're a gamer, you've got a next gen console already. If you already have an iDevice, getting 100 for music/apps is a pretty cool way to continue to enjoy the device with new content.

so they cut off the $100 educational discount and replaced that with the Gift card or ... do you get both?
