I think you should have another go, and try to get more impact from a very promising situation. Looks like fun anyway... for all concerned...

Yes - I agree with everything you said.
My bad in not stating this was taken by a 13 year old & P&S jpeg, not a DSLR/RAW.....still decent capture.....the original post from facebook had more detail, when I saved to jpeg at lower res & added water mark (my niece is Andrea, I'm Mike) some detail/crispness was lost...
I'm still encouraging her to enter it into local photo contest in Grand Haven...for her fun and learning experience.
I'll ask her to email the original jpeg full size and do some basic crop/PP to it for submission.

Part of me likes the bright/brilliant flare, implies the never ending summer days and the brightness of water living

Thanks VirtualRain! I agree it is a bit underexposed, I'll have to go back into post and bump it up a little. This is the western end of breckenridge road in Bakersfield, CA. Its a very scenic road but also very narrow and rough, certainly not fit for an exotic. However, it could prove very enjoyable in a WRX or Lancer 🙂

I would like to have seen this composition with her in the middle of grass between the bottom and the statue. It might of been a little more dramatic and I think I would notice her more. Beautiful picture nonetheless.

Thanks... I agree with you completely... I was fortunate enough to be there at this moment though. Her actual photographer is just out of the lower right of the frame.
