9to5Mac has now published specs on the Retina-display 15-inch MacBook Pro models that are apparently arriving alongside updated versions of the existing form factor. Notably, the new machines include options ranging up to 16 GB of RAM and 768 GB of solid-state storage.
MC975LL/A - MBP 15.4/2.3/8GB/256GB FLASH-USA
MC976LL/A - MBP 15.4/2.6/8GB/512GB FLASH-USA
MD831LL/A - MBP 15.4/2.7/16GB/768GB FLASH-USA
Exact pricing has not yet been confirmed, but the high-end model is said to be exceeding the equivalent of $4000 in some countries.

Bargain.

But seriously I wish I could justify buying the top end model :p

9to5 is pretty spot on, but they could have at least given a source. Even a "someone familiar with the situation" would have sufficed.

But more importantly, this doesn't say anything about the thickness (thinness) of these machines. That's the interesting part to me.

EDIT: I agree with Peace below, 768 has got to be a BTO option.

If your not desperate buy your standard new model MBP and upgrade to a retina MAC when prices full (2-3 refreshes), bound to happen. Those that need it photographers /writers etc might buy now as the money will be recouped if pro.

As nice as that sounds there will be no way I can afford that. I can't even afford a 768 gb SSD by itself right now

Why does it go MC975 and MC976 and jump to MD831??

If this is true though, I'm going to be all over that 2.6 gHz, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD!! :)

Rich early adopters rejoice. For the rest of us, normal Macbook Pro's with faster components.

It'll take some time before the retina screens trickle down to the rest of the line and to the Airs.

Dang, that's one beefy upgrade! And it's gonna come at one face-slapping price for a 768gb Ssd!
