Did you expect Mountain Lion would be supported on your machine?
I accept that the machine is over 4 years old, but with a SSD installed is still running Lion pretty well for basic web/office use.
It shipped with Leopard, so has only seen 2 OS upgrades and until I started browsing the ML threads didn't even think it wouldn't be supported.
Not the end of the world and I suspect my girlfriend (who uses it daily) wouldn't even realise it had been updated, but it's a shame I can't keep all my Apple machines (a 2010 MBA and 2011 iMac) running the same OS.
