Hey guys, I've been looking through the PowerMac homepage and under the performance tab I found this interesting picture of performance in Photoshop:

Look at the "baseline" PC model ;) it uses 3.6 GHz P4!!! :D

Running Windows. Hopefully OS X-on-Intel will be faster than Windows on comparable machines.

Edit: Oh, and it's already been stated that only the Dev Macs use Pentium 4s. The consumer models will use a new chip.

I hope you never really took those benchmarks too serisouly :p

Anyone can, and I'm sure Apple did, set up and ideal situation in which one particular configuration outperforms all others. Benchmarks are inherently questionable; there is no perfect benchmark.

I guarantee we'll see a similar benchmark in a year or two with the new Intel-based Mac on the top and a Wintel machine on the bottom ;)
