Hi, I just bought a secondhand 21" Studio Display CRT that I want to use as second screen on my Powerbook 17" 1.5 Ghz.

Tried to do this but the monitor doesn't show anything and the amber light doesn't turn green.
The Powerbook does recognise a CRT monitor. I can move my cursor out of my lcd display.

Already have set the resolution of the crt monitor to minimum, but same problem.

Tried to connect the monitor on a Linux desktop and everything works fine.

Solution anyone ?

Screenshots attached are in Dutch but you will recognise the shots anyway.

Isn't there an adaptor involved in getting the signal off a PowerBook? Did you use the same adaptor for both PowerBooks? If it worked sans adaptor with a Linux box, but fails with the adaptor on 2 PBs, I would start with trying to replace the adaptor.
