No comprendo. Hotish face, why would she have no boyfriend?

Am I missing the point?

This is a clip from a popular YouTube video called "Overly Attached Girlfriend".
In this clip she acts like she cares too much about her boyfriend.
Also it's a parody of Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" music video.

No camera?! YAY!

If this is real, I think its an upgrade if you ask me - People who use a giant iPad as a camera and hold that awkward thing out in front of them for a picture look like huge tools! Thumbs up from me :D

Do we really need a camera on the back?

It sure comes in handy when you want to scan a document, which happens a lot in my line of work.

----------

Of course it will have a camera, even the iPod touch has a rear facing camera for goodness sake.

Looks highly suspect to me. Isn't the wifi antenna typically behind the Apple logo? If so, it's AWOL here, and I can't imagine Apple running with a plastic back plate, when every other device has glass or aluminium.

Not that I believe most of these type of stories but Apple would be idiots not to include some camera in the rear of a mini iPad. Many people now use their iPad to take photos, that won't change with the rumored mini iPad.

Do the other $299 range tablets ...Kindle etc.. have cameras? I can see them doing this to keep costs down but it sort of seems cheap-ish to not include a camera..

The Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7 ($199 both) do not have a camera, however the Google Nexus 7 does contain a front-facing camera (The Kindle does not).

Neither the Nook Color or Nook Tablet ($169 and $249) contain rear-facing or front facing cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 ($249) contains both a front-facing and rear-facing (3MP rear).

You can probably find cheapo off-name Walgreens $99 tablets, but the cameras included on those are usually of VGA quality.

Why do you need cameras (on the rear anyways) on a tablet?

Camera will be on iPad mini 2. We all know Apple's game by now. And frankly, I am tired of it.

To everyone chiming in with questions on why it'd even need a camera, or that it'd be dumb, I'd like to point your attention to the same folks who fell so quickly in lockstep with Apple when the first iPad was released.

I really don't think Apple would leave out the back and front camera, because they've been pushing Facetime ever since it launched, leaving out either the back or front camera would make it less usable for Facetime.

In a house...duh!
1) Likely Fake

2) I want to bonk people on the noggin' when I see them taking photos in public with their iPads. Just looks stupid...and yes that is MY opinion.

3) No loss for me if a 7" doesn't have a camera but if there is going to be a 7" it will likely have a camera unless they are really trying to hit a price point (with typical high Apple profit margins).

4) I....in a major way....want a iPad Mini.

Bring it on!

It might be sketchy pictures. But I love how if it turns out to be true. The 7" iPad without rear camera. Now that's what I call tablet.

Come to think of it, iPhone camera has always been superior so far. Apple deliberately put an awful rear camera, while the most superior optic and sensor at the time would end up in iPhone.

A front camera would be useful though. It would be awkward to be left out without FaceTime in iOS world.

So really people, why bother? It looks strange enough taking a casual picture using an iPad rear camera. That's supposed to be what iPhone for.

Did they sneak into the Apple factory? Is that why they couldn't turn the lights on?

As long as the iPad has a front facing camera it will be fine. I've used the rear camera on my iPad once, just to make sure it worked.

Steve

I really don't get why this bugs people so much. What is it about taking a picture on an iPad that looks so stupid?

16:9. Not likely.

No camera on the back makes sense. iPad Mini will be a test product for a while to gauge customer interest. No sense going balls-deep on a G1 product.

I still don't think a 7" iPad is ever going to happen but we'll see.
