General: Viewing photos/videos from an SD card on iPad/iPhone with Camera Connection kit?

I was wondering if there was a way to be able to watch movies and view photos from an SD card on an iPhone or iPad? With the help of XBMC or a similar app?
The recent tweak, CameraConnector allows the iPhone to benefit from the Camera Connection Kit that was originally meant for the iPad only.

1, you can on the iPad. Just navigate to /var/mnt/mount1 from XBMC or RushPlayer+.

2, on the iPhone, you can't access external storage, ONLY keyboard. See http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1318975

Sorry, I was wrong about XBMC - it can only access /var/mobile.

However, there's a solution that allows any (!!!!) player to access the storage card directly and really easily - see my just-posted tutorial at http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=15991436 .
