best ipad app for playing mkv with subs?

I'm thinking AVPlayer HD but can't stand the fact that they charge you for the HD version as well.

i.e. if you already own the iPhone version they shouldn't charge for the iPad version and visa versa.

I use goodplayer for mkv files, anime as well as some movies/tv shows. It's also one app for iPhone and iPad.

Note that

1, GoodPlayer can't decode H.264 streams (in most cases) used in MKV's using hardware acceleration. GoodPlayer shouldn't be used for 1080p/i playback at all and, below that, only when absolutely necessary. (Hardware decoding always means, among other things, better battery life and responsiveness, even at lower resolutions.)

2, does your Anime stuff have SSA subtitles? Then, you'll want to use either XBMC (after jailbreaking) or HD Player Pro if you aren't jailbroken or dislike XBMC ( http://itunes.apple.com/app/hd-player-pro/id429610228?mt=8 4.0 (used to be ATK Player by Khoa Tran Anh) )
