9to5Mac reports that it has received information indicating that Apple will be launching six models of the iPhone 5, code named "N42", at next week's media event. The information indicates that Apple will be releasing black and white versions at the same three prices carried by the iPhone 4S: $199/$299/$399.
Here is the part codes matrix for the new iPhone launch from a source at a well-known U.S. retail chain: N42A-USA -$199, N42B-USA-$199, N42A-USA-$299, N42B-USA-$299, N42A-USA-$399, N42B-USA-$399. A + B signify black and white.

We also understand that this new iPhone N42 will come in the same prices as the iPhone 4S. With this, we speculate that the configurations will remain at the iPhone 4S's 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities.

A number of accessories are naturally expected to accompany the iPhone launch, and pre-orders for the new device will reportedly begin "soon after" the introduction, if not on the day of.

I've got 15 months or so left on my 4S contract, so I'm more interested in knowing when we'll see iOS 6. Hopefully that's shipped soon after the event.

I don't know why, but every time I look at the leaked iPhone 5 design, I cringe. It doesn't seem like a product Apple would sell. It looks odd.

I hear Apple will also be designing the next iPhone. Will we get a news story about that too? :D

It's ridiculous if the storage stays the same. 32Gb should be the minimum at this point.

Totally agree. with memory prices falling, this would have been a feature MUCH more used/appreciated by most users than a slightly better camera or some other trivial hardware update....

Why? 16GB is fine for me. In fact, I'll be ordering three of them. Why would you want to take that option away from me?

Umm, he means the 32GB would replace the 16GB model, at the same price point. Would you not take double the storage for the same price?

I wish they'd cut the 16 already, and make the 32/64 their two phones.

I'd be pretty pissed if Apple tried to increase the price of the iPhone at this point. They have their supply chain down to a science, and it's well documented that they make an extremely healthy profit on each phone sold.

I straight up wouldn't buy one if they tried to increase the price.

Ditto, NAND is extremely cheap at this point in those sizes.

Break it! Sell your old phone on ebay, it will most likely pay your ETF and then give you some seed money for your 5, but that might mean switching carriers.
