I was able to successfully pair my IP4 to my Mercedes, however when i tired it on my BMW (newer) I got "could no pair" errors, btw my 3GS paired to the BMW with no erros, after reading on the interwebz I deleted all paired devices on the car then i reset network settings on the IP4 and was able to pair😕 not sure why. Also some people turned off their wifi and that alone worked.

Your M37 is the exact same car as my M56 (other than engine, and perhaps options) and my iphone 4 has no problems other than a slight loss in clarity at the other end (or so I'm told).
I wonder if you've gone through the RE-setup process correctly on both devices. Maybe you should PM me and we could walk through the process? Also, are you attempting to use bluetooth for phone calls while having the iPhone connected to the USB audio connection? (I'm not, since I use a separate iPod touch on the USB connection)
As for the clarity issue (on the OTHER phone when using the iphone 4 + bluetooth + 2011/2010-infinity), I believe/hope the changes come from iOS4. Does anyone whose 3GS sounded better than the iphone 4 in this situation, have significant experience with the 3GS + iOS4 + infiniti + bluetooth?
The reason I ask is that iOS4 is about to get a significant upgrade for bluetooth (including a whole new bluetooth stack with more control for bluetooth audio and other pluses) There's a good chance this next upgrade (iOS 4.1, not to be confused with iOS 4.0.1 - which is available now) may make a difference in the clarity issue.
There's also another possible fix for clarity that's worth looking into. In the prior generation M45/M35 there was a diagnostic screen one could get to with a special sequence of button presses. Once into that screen there were some settings for bluetooth cell phones. I changed the bluetooth/cellphone volume setting in that screen and it made a big difference in clarity to the outside caller. That worked for other infiniti owners (at the freshalloy forum) as well. There's probably a similar diagnostic screen in this car, but no doubt a different sequence for getting into it.

I'm having massive BT problems with both my iPhone 4 and my wife's iPhone 4. People complain we sound like we're "under water" probably 70% of the time, and no amount of turning off our BT headsets (Motorola H720, H715 or Jabra Stone) fixes it, until it randomly works correctly one time.
These headsets worked great with my iPhone 3GS/iPhone 3G, and other handsets, but not with the iPhone 4.

I wanted to resurrect this thread because, even after updating to iOS 4.1, I am still having bluetooth issues with my 2008 Infiniti FX45.
I have no problem pairing, but there seems to be a connection hiccup on incoming calls (and to a lesser extent, on outgoing calls). When a call comes in and I hit the button to connect, the bluetooth light cycles on and off a couple of times and it tries to connect for several seconds. Sometimes the connection is successful and the call goes off without a hitch. Most times, however, even though the iPhone 4 shows the call as connected, neither party can hear the other and I have to hang up and try to call back.
I never had any problems with my old iPhone. It worked flawlessly.
If anyone has had similar issues or discovered a solution, I would greatly appreciate it!

I am having problems with my 2008 FX35 with the iphone 4, the dealer has been trying to fix the problem with infiniti direct, It may come down to it that they have to replace the bluetooth modualr at no charge!! Hopefully the problem will be resolved. We are experiencing the same problems just to let you know
Did you every get this fixed up as I am in the same boat as you and would really like to use the cars bluetooth.

I'm having the same issue with my '08 G37. But my dealership refuses to do anything. I'm really interested if anyone is making progress on this. Wonder if there's a way to complain to Infiniti that'll actually get something done. Calling their Bluetooth help line was a complete waste of time -- tried on 2 different occasions over a period of a month and the same guy answers and gives the same useless advice - "get a new phone"

I have a 2011 Infiniti M56, and a new iphone 4S. It works beautifully for me, for both phone and bluetooth audio. All of my music apps stream really well to my m56 using Bluetooth audio. Apple's music app, and the new Pandora even show full track info on the Infiniti Display. All track info is shown in the status view, and independently, the track name is shown underneath the map view when using navigation. Also I can use the infiniti voice control system to dial names from my iphone's contacts.
I also have gotten software upgrades at the dealer, which added bluetooth call waiting, and which claimed to improve the bluetooth audio quality. I could not tell that much of difference in sound quality, but I've been pretty happy with it all along.
The procedure for the initial bluetooth setup with the phone is a little tricky on the M56, as I've always had to pair twice. Once for phone usage, and once for Bluetooth Audio. You need to walk through the manual carefully to get it right.
Once you've got them both working, you don't have to do it again (until you get a new phone, or reset the old one), and the music starts streaming automatically when you turn on the engine, provided you were listening to BT audio when you were last in your car. It even seems to remember that I was playing Pandora when I start the car.

I have a 2008 Nissan Altima and I've never had a problem with my old POS Droid and bluetooth. I just got my iPhone 4S and on incoming calls, it does not show the phone number who's calling me and once I answer it, the bluetooth drops after 3 seconds, but the call is still connected on my phone.
The bluetooth works fine on outgoing calls that I place.
I'm wondering if I need a software upgrade of some sort from my stealership. I didn't know they did that...

As a retired corp rep for BMW, I can tell you this interface thing with bluetooth and all the phones is a designers nightmare. Every update has to be reworked on both the car and the phone side and in the case of apple, things like Pandora have to be changed and approved by Apple before they can issue an update. All you can do is wait a bit while the companies talk to each other. And as Droid, BB and apple make updates fast and furious, the car mfrs race to catch up. iOS5 just sent most mfr's into a loop recently....

The problem is the person I am talking to cannot hear me well or at all, I have tried 3 differant phones and still exact same problem, I now use a HTC sensation 4G. I read where it might be the software w/4G phones but I had the same problem with the first phone which was a samsung Rugby with AT&T, the HTCsensation is with T-mobile, anyone else with these kind of issues? And any help would be appreaceated, I am waiting to hear what Neillo dealership is going to do.😕

I have a 2011 infiniti M56, and had an M45 before that. Their software and the software for the G seem to be built around the same code base.
First, have you tried increasing outgoing call volume (on the M56 it's at: settings > volume and beeps) ? I'd try increasing in increments up to the max.
Second, the M45 had a few diagnostic modes (that you could get to with a secret sequence of button presses). One of those modes allows changing incoming and and outgoing call volumes way beyond what's available with the settings I mentioned above. Those settings TOTALLY saved the day for me with bluetooth call volume on that M45. I'm sure you need a different sequence to get to those modes in your car, but I'd also bet that the same modes are available by some method or other. Your dealer or someone on the infiniti msg boards may be able to get you there.
Third, you might also have additional bluetooth volume settings in one of the settings apps on your phone. Some phones actually have a specific bluetooth settings app, and there might be a third party android app that can help (if that's what you have)
As an FYI, my iphone works perfectly with my M56 bluetooth without any special settings. (no android vs iphone insult intended)

After pairing about 5 iPhones to my 2008 G35, I think I am able to pin point the root cause and the workaround.
The drops will happen when iPhone also paired with A2DP device (for Stereo music streaming). If you want to keep the pairing with the A2DP device, then get an A2DP gateway and hook to the Aux ports of your Infinity, beside solving the bt drops problems during bt handsfree calls, you will also add a2dp streaming to your Infinity which is pretty cool. The other workaround is probably to delete the pairing with a2dp device but I have not tried it myself.

Infiniti stupidity
After months of bluetooth issues with my 2012 M37, I got a call from Infiniti saying the 4S is incompatible with the navigation system in the M37 and wanted me to go out and "buy a compatible phone". Time to boycott Infiniti. This is absurd!!

I have been using an iphone 4S (and my previous iPhones before that) with my infiniti M56 (which has the same electronics as your M37) from the first day I got my car. My car was purchased within a month of the day they first began taking orders for the first M56. The only bluetooth problem I had was extremely minor (I needed to turn off auto updates for the address book) and it was completely fixed with the very first software patch.
They said that my iphone 4s and iphone 4 were not on the compatible list as well. But it turned out to be a non issue, and I interpreted the incompatibility to be a disclaimer based on the fact that it hadn't been fully tested and certified with those iphone models.
I love the way my infiniti works with my iphone. It does everything I could want, displaying song titles from bluetooth audio, starting automatically with the right music app when I start my car, or return from a phone call, switching back and forth with call waiting, using the car's voice recognition to dial phone numbers from my phones address book. It's perfect.
What kinds of problems are you having?
