If you read the blurb on the 2nd page of the Apple order page, it states that the Lightning adapter is included in the box (although it is not mentioned in the In The Box listing). It says you can order an additional one though...

Cool, as I was going to order one but won't bother now... 🙂

This is interesting, I didn't see that when I ordered mine. I wonder if it will actually be included or if that was just a typo.

I can't get to the Apple Store on my computer, it's going crazy, but I'm pretty sure they mean a Lightning USB/power adapter, not Lightning-to-30-pin adapter.

Additional Lightning to 30-pin Adapter
Your iPhone includes a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter for connecting 30-pin accessories to devices featuring the Lightning connector. Purchase this additional adapter to have a second adapter for your home or office.

Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m) [+ £30.00]

It is next to a picture of the adapter so I think it's the right thing. I've taken a copy of the page anyway incase it doesn't turn up and I can query it 😉

Yes, this is exactly what it means. Go to http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html and scroll to "In the Box"

iPhone 5
Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic
Lightning to USB Cable
USB Power Adapter
Documentation

The 30 pin adapter is listed under accessories.

Edit: Weird, that message seems contradictory to the above. Great news if true.

It's included...My rep asked if I wanted to order a spare, but what i really want is a dock...I guess they aren't selling new ones yet though.

Interesting!

If your iPhone ends up not coming with it, I'm sure they'd be happy to send you one. Might be a typo... otherwise it'd be listed proudly under In The Box.

For those who haven't seen it, this is what it says:

EDIT: Ooof! I'm too slow lol

I want to order a second separate Lightning to USB cable to have at my office, but it really costs $39.00?!

Sheesh. What are the chances Monoprice has this in a month for say $9.00? Haha.

Any USA buyers that can confirm it comes with the adapter? I don't see why only Canadians or UK buyers would get the adapter free and not us, but who knows with laws and stuff - just want to confirm...

its not listed as in the box? I wonder if this was a last minute decision to give everyone that orders a phone 1.

Ebay will probably have them soon for $2-3 each.
Dont rush and spend 2 arms a leg for it.

Means: Additional Lightning to Dock Adapter. Your iPhone comes with a Lightning to 30-pol Adapter. Quite interesting, I hope it's true.

Thanks for the headsup, I just rushed through the entire order.
