Can anybody get their phone number to activate as a message destination / caller ID in Messages for OS X? I inputted my phone number and it says it sent an email, but I haven't received anything on my phone.

I assume we can disable Facebook integration if we want to?

I know a lot of people like that "feature", but I prefer to keep Facebook in its little box and away from the rest of my stuff.

10.7.5 is also out, and there is a matching security update for Snow Leopard.

Haven't got the e-mail from Apple yet detailing the security fixes, and I can't see the manual downloads yet, but Software Update has them (both of these will vary in timing depending on the Akamai network catching up with distribution).

Now that's it out I guess I can say this. From my earlier builds testing, the battery life is much improved.

Simply do not login to facebook in settings. You'll never see anything from facebook in that case.

Yes, my mouse has been acting up that way, too. The keyboard is okay. Thought it might be my rechargeable batteries dying out on me. Hope the OS update fixes it.

Another issue I have is that iTunes takes a long time to start playing a song when I first start it. I get the spinning beach ball for about 30 seconds before the song plays. I can here the drive spin up when this happens.

Update: I updated to iTunes 10.7 and OS 10.8.2. My iTunes performances issues are fixed. Not sure which update fixed the problem.

First thing I noticed right off the bat was that swiping between spaces is vastly improved. It seems to be much faster, smoother, and "pops" into place rather than slowly easing in.

I'm on a mid-2011 Air.

That's just an update for iOS 6 stuff, not the full update most people are waiting for.

It will include a redesigned iTunes, and ships in October.

That number is always, and will always be wildly speculative. Take it off power and run it down to figure it out for real.
