From AT&T regarding referrals:
Referrals are checked, before being sent, to make sure they do not go to anyone who has opted out of receiving e-mails from AT&T. If a referral has been addressed to someone on the opt-out list, you will be notified by e-mail and it will be noted on your referral activity statement.
Please make sure you have opted in for emails from AT&T.
