Bellevue Square Mall, Bellevue, WA
Anybody have any details on Belle Square's camping out policy? I heard in the past, they opened the mall at 6am to let the line in, but that people weren't allowed to stand in line outside, prior to that.
I'm considering getting there by 4am, but judging by other posts, it sounds like people are going to camp out on Thursday night at other malls/Apple Stores. Anybody heard anything from the Bellevue Apple Store peeps? |

Got the scoop from an Apple Store Rep...He said people will be allowed to lineup on the NE 8th side as early as they want, and Apple reps will be there at 5am to open mall doors and hand out tickets based on what model iPhone you want. That will remove the possibility of a mad dash to the Apple Store.

Do you know how ticket redemption is handled? I am assuming that handing out tickets means that once you get a ticket, you could leave and then return during normal business hours on Friday? Or will you need to remain in line?

Pretty sure you have to stay in line...I think the tickets are their/our way of assuring there's enough stock on hand to satisfy the amount of people in line, and isn't a redemption type ticket.
They did just tell me they were likely going to limit one phone per customer

Yeah, they were using the tickets throughout the day for the iPad launch. It works, even if you do still have to stand in line.
I'm still debating when I want to go. The 3G launch line was pretty slow, and I got the 4 shipped out to me. I'd like to get out by 9am, but I don't know how that translates into "you should be here by X" these days. How quickly did they move the line with the 4S launch?

I'm gonna drive by at 4am and depending on the line, will either go back home or jump in line. I'll post an update when I get there.

Bellevue passed out blanket last year to those in line outside. Everyone got in the mall an hour or so before the store open. Apple served coffee, gave out tickets for the phone you wanted, and then lined people up to get in and buy them.

About to shower and head over in a few minutes... hope there's still a point in doing so!
Gah... I usually drag myself out of bed (very reluctantly) around 8:30 to 9... shouldn't have missed that 1 hour pre-order window last week!! |

There are reportedly about 200 people here (inside). Less than an hour to go!!

One of the specialists said he thinks they have enough stock for the entire day. Of course keeping in mind there are, what, 18 versions? So perhaps some people later on will still walk away empty handed, depending on carrier/capacity/color needs.

Those looking for the smaller capacities shouldn't have any issues getting one today after work or anything like that.

When I got inside the actual store at about 10:25, there were roughly 130 people in line behind me. There were (supposedly) about 200 people in line when I got in line maybe 10 minutes before 7am, so that means they were processing people at the rate of a person a minute (doors opened right at 8am).
When I walked out at 10:35, there were additional people at the back of the line, but not a whole lot more than the 130 or so behind me when I got in the store. Might want to hurry over if you are picky about color or capacity. When I walked out I asked the guy passing out the reservation cards if they had more cards than what he had out (some piles were starting to look thin), and he said he wasn't sure. EDIT: Ha! I just checked back on this thread and read my post, and thought "what was I thinking??" about the rate I mentioned. Apparently I was basing my calculation off of the entire time I was in line, not the time from when the store opened, which was my intent. They were processing people significantly faster than 1 a minute. Last edited by dljeffery; Sep 21, 2012 at 03:21 PM. |

My buddy was able to walk in this afternoon, waited about 30 minutes, and purchased his.
I went to Alderwood to get ghost armor put on mine, went over to the apple store around 130pm and there was a decent line of about 30 people or so. |
