Here is another photo from Peru, this time from the Colca Canyon, which is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. I am rather proud of myself on this trip, I've stuck to manual mode most of the time (except for sunsets, can't quite get the colors right!?!). I'm still saving to get a lightweight tripod, so all of the photos are handheld.
Some nice shots - quick question - how are you getting on with the X1 Pro? Bought my wife the x100 Black and we both love it! I am seriously considering trading my Canon kit as I really love the feel and set up Fuji have got?
The original picture was made this summer, but this is a new b&w version. I am now working on a series of this park, which is conveniently close to my home.
I took that shot after sunset on a foggy/rainy day, so the lighting & sky were oddly cooler than usual. I did have to bring down some of the highlights so that might've slightly exaggerated it. I didn't add any crazy white balance setting either.
Apart from the more obvious advantages, a tripod helps to put me in the right frame of mind. I'll happily leave spare lenses at home, but not my tripod...
