Anyone notice that when you click 'Find a Store' the map icon is the old Google Maps one?

I tried to update it yesterday. It's been sitting idle saying installing with no progress bar action. How do I cancel? I restarted my iP5 and still the same.

Delete the app and download it again manually. Sometimes the installation will hang, it can happen to any app.

...Just wanted to quip like some others: about time! First party apps should always take full advantage of new hardware on day one. It's bad enough so many third parties are taking so long. Apple must always set the good example, without exception.

I'm really surprised Apple wasn't ready to roll out the entire iPhone 5 "package" on launch day. Hardware shortages or gaps (lightning adapter, cases) are one thing, but you'd think they would have all of their own software ready to go.

When I searched for a store the map results were returned via Apple's Maps, not Google's. curious that yours did not.

EDIT - OK I re-read your post - you are referring to the ICON, not the app. Yes, you are correct, it is displaying the old Maps app ICON.

1) I'm sorry but I HATE the icon for this app. It is very ugly and childlike and unapple like. Why isn't it just their logo like the stores? See my mockup below.

Please change the icon Apple!

2) Are they ever going to add iPad support for this app?

I'm confused - before this update there seemed to be lots of people saying that the app was 'incompatible' with the iPhone 5. Did they just mean it didn't use the extra screen space? Less than a week after getting my iPhone 5 I used it to purchase a USB/Lightning cable in-store with no problem at all. What was the problem meant to be?

They just meant not using the extra space. Anyone who used "incompatible with" probably should have said "not yet optimized for."

I have to say that I love how apps not updated fit right in the middle of the screen. While it looks weird to have the status bar not at the top of the screen, it was well done.

Really? It's the Apple Store app. That icon is a shopping cart with an Apple logo on it. Maybe the colors need to change or the rays of light need to go or something, but I can't think of a better icon for something that is intended for buying Apple products.

I think your icon would be good if instead of being the Apple Store app, the app was simply called "Apple" and offered everything Apple: store, support, accounts, investor relations, employment resources, news, etc.

Passbook for Apple gift cards
Ability to purchase and gift Apple gift cards
PIN security for order status

I just like have the app working and never gave much thought to the icon.

you actually can't choose engravings but you get one directly from Foxconn
