update: if you guys want a more colorful, user-friendly website that does the same thing as Voidness' keynote checker, check this website out: http://spoilerfreekeynote.com/ (as of 10/22/2012, it has been updated for the new apple event!)
_____________________

Hi all, come here for a spoiler-free experience of the October 23rd, 2012 iPad Mini/Media Event! This post will contain the official live keynote stream (when one is available). Please don't post any rumors/speculation. Until then, feel free to pass the time here.

Keynote Checker (Courtesy of Voidness): http://insightview.com/keynotechecker/

Rules
- Do not mention any current rumors/new rumors
- Do not talk about Fight Club
- Do not mention Apple's stock price
- Do assume everyone in this thread has heard nothing about iPad Mini Event
- Use common sense when posting
- Do not say what was not in the Keynote (ex. "They didn't update the AppleTVs!!")
- Be Patient!

Purpose of This Thread
The purpose is that people can bookmark this thread, and check in periodically to see if a link to the Keynote is posted (instead of being spoiled by seeing pictures on the MacRumors' homepage ). It's like we've all seen trailers for a movie (like the part leaks), but we want to watch the movie (the Keynote) without knowing the ending.

Also if someone does post spoilers please report them via the button located on the left of each post. Please do not quote the offending post.

I'll stick with the spoilers, thanks. :)

But thanks for warning us your site is boring, assuming its not some kind of joke.

I'm confused about the spoiler-free part. So basically it would report on the keynote without any mention of what's being presented, such as this?

Tim Cook takes the stand.

"I'm here to introduce the **********. It's revolutionary. It's made out of ******* and ****** and it's only **mm thick."

Wow... Sounds awesome.

I for one always appreciate these threads and use them every keynote!

For people that dont "get" it, the point of these is to bookmark them before the event and then after the live announcement you just go straight to them and then you're able to watch the keynote unspoiled without having to go to the main page and seeing the news. It's like a safe bunker from the apocalypse.

Where I live, the keynote is 3am so I just wake up around 7am and refresh these threads until the keynote is live and avoid the rest of the internet in the meantime. Then once I've watched the keynote, go to the Apple website and look at the porn shots and full specs.

Then go onto the forums and read all the reactions and salty Fandroid tears

So ppl on this thread WILL NOT be discussin any part about the presentation when it takes place tomorrow.....any other subjects that are removed from talking about tomorrow's event is fine. This includes talking about movies, the weather, sports, etc.....we gather here so that we can enjoy a pristine, unspoiled presentation when the video gets posted by apple later in the day....Lets do this guys!!!!

I'm afraid they will start pre orderds right after the event. Wasn't that the case with the New iPad?

These threads always give me a chuckle. This is a RUMORS (aka spoilers) site after all.

There's a difference in how rumors were a few years ago and today- and macrumors posted a story on it yesterday. the rumors are now direct leaks and dimensions and photos. Basically, takes away all of the fun of watching the keynotes as there is often very little new information to be mined. A few years ago you'd have a few somewhat reliable sources speculating based on some vague comments pieced together from 4 different interviews of Steve Jobs or some sleuthing developers who caught an odd line of code referencing something that hadn't yet been announced.

The leaks are getting out of hand.

No. This thread will ONLY "report" when a link to watch the keynote becomes available online.

why dont apple live stream??

why not use the fact that itunes is in EVERY home to have a propaganda channel for apple ads, apple product launches etc. and stream live.

imagine how many of us would (i'm in australia) wake up at 3 in the morning, switch on our atv and watch live on the apple launch channel... they do live streaming for others, why not themselves?? i think their data centre could handle it. if not, just turn off the maps server for a couple of hours. noone will notice the difference...

Geez, you're dedicated. I'm in Australia too and I wouldn't get up at 3 to watch, purely because it's too early and cold. I'll just look and see on MacRumors and find out what got announced. Especially if a new iMac gets announced.

Yes, unfortunately I agree...
I've been spoiler free since 2006, and I'm proud of it! :)
Voidness' keynote checker has been very appreciated!

Hahaha!! True, I wouldn't notice, it'd still send me to the wrong places... ;)
Great idea! :)

That's a very good idea - in fact, I'm surprised Apple haven't done it.
A 24 hour streaming Apple channel.. product guides, hardware guides, software tips, tons of ads obviously, AND keynotes live.

They have the resource. Why not have their own TV channel?!!

for those of you who go spoiler-free every event... how long does it usually take for the stream to go online? I've heard that lately it's the wait is shorter.

It's being streamed live. Just looked on my Apple TV and there is a link for the Apple special event - live :)
