New iTunes? [Merged] *Now Available in Software Update*

Not sure where this would normally go, but when is the new iTunes coming out? I didn't see anything from the event today about it.

I was wondering the same thing. In september Apple said that it would be out in October so you would think either this week or next tuesday. I just don't understand why they don't release it today.

i was also tuning in specifically for the new itunes, so i was surprised when the event ended without a mention of it. there is a chance that they'll roll the update out today, i don't think it's so earth-shattering that they'd need to dedicate a segment of the event to it.

my guess is that the trouble they had negotiating with the record labels is to blame. a subscription service was in the works, but then the proposed deal with sony music was said to have reached a stalemate due to pricing disagreements.

hoping for a quiet release today, but not getting my hopes up...

There is certainly a chance we will get it dropped today. They have released software before without warning. They said, October, they'll stick to it unless we hear otherwise.

People assumed it was today because of an apple special event, forget about the event for a minute and it will just come when its ready. If they said october, it will come october, theres still a while to go yet ; )

Pretty annoyed that it wasn't released, considering they said October and this event was at the (almost) end of October. The new products were neat to see and all, but I'm not buying anything new for awhile and was really looking forward to the new streamlined iTunes.

i have a strong feeling that they will roll out the update later today. why should they mentioned it on they keynote? they already showed it last month and they often rolled out updates silent!

Probably with iOS 6.0.1 within a week or so, going by past release dates.
