The reviews are in: the 4th gen iPad does in fact have a lighting connector.
Yes. That's how you can tell the difference between a 4th gen iPad and a half-as-fast 3rd gen iPad without turning them on.

Safari seems snappier. ;-)
In case your interested, I have some oceanfront property in Kansas for sale.
I am looking at one for college but heat dissipation and weight have me concerned. My iPad 2 is thinner, lighter, quick, cool, and has great battery life.
Has anyone actually held one in a store? What is the temperature like? What about the heft?
Lovely. My "new iPad" lasted all of 7 months. Is that the shortest product life cycle ever for an Apple product?
(Of course, it still works fine, and I will continue to use it. It's just never a nice feeling knowing your product got superseded by the new model -- twice as fast even -- while yours isn't even out of warranty yet. Oh well...)
The only thing I want to know: does it still get "hot" in your hands like the 3rd gen does? First gen always pleasantly cool to the touch.
I was surprised today so see how functional my 1st gen iPad was.
I can't imagine upgrading to this beast of a mother...
iPad 2 was like 7x as iPad 1
iPad 3 was like 2x as fast as iPad 2
and now the iPad 4 is like 2x faster than the iPad 3...
that was what many people said about ipad 2 and ipad 3.

No IGZO no buy.
Sharp's shipping IGZO screens en masse this quarter. Why not use it to create a thinner, lighter iPad?
This is tech that was supposed to be used for iPad 3, but now hasn't even made it into iPad 4.
I don't need an overweight overheating beast to lug around. I'll wait for the next one.
Depends on your definition of obsolete."third-gen owners need not apply."
But I was told I should be mad that my 3rd gen is now obsolete!
Guess I'll just keep enjoying it instead.

Over double the benchmark of the previous Gen 3 for the same price. How can that not be a sweet deal?
... it's not a sweet deal for all of us iPad 3 owners who are having this sh** rubbed in our face!
A refresh so soon is an insult to us lot
