is a Refurbished 2011 iMac 27-inch 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 for $1789 a good price? Im taking into to consideration that this could possibly be the last line of iMacs that can be user upgradable (granted a difficult task to do).
Well, the 2012s have have user-upgradable RAM. If you're talking more like upgrading the SSD yourself, then yeah, we won't know for sure until iFixit or whomever tears it apart.is a Refurbished 2011 iMac 27-inch 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 for $1789 a good price? I think it is worth it. I ordered that one Thursday and will see it Monday on my porch. Mine was more forced as I have a grant that expired before December so I had to go ahead and buy, but at least the refurb was $100 cheaper Thursday than it was Tuesday!
how much did you get it for? it looks like all of the pricing just increased

Yeah, WTF? I noticed all the prices went up like $60 today. Guess they realized that everyone is looking at the refurbs since they mucked up the 21.5 models with no user accessible RAM slots.
Not impressed, Apple. Not Impressed.
$1789 for the 3.4 refurb. Came with 2TB hard drive and 2GB video even though it was not speced and was printed on the box as 1TB drive and 1GB video! So saved a lot of money vs buying with the upgrades a few weeks ago. Like $600+. I do not see this model in the refurb store right now. It comes and goes.

The other two iMacs in the refurb store are the same price they have been.
$979 21" 2.5GHz --> $979
$1189 21" 2.7GHz --> $1249
$1359 27" 2.7GHz --> $1419
$1599 27" 3.1GHz --> $1659
Here's what I see:

OK, stabbing at this, and is extra weird because Apple has never given an extra discount to refurbs before, but I am going in through the US EDU store, I bet you are on the regular store. Maybe? It would be new to see extra discount on refurb as far as I can recollect in 15 years of buying EDU and refurbs.
hey your right!!! what the heck? i guess EDU discounts apply to refurbs now 😱
Except for the fact that the prices under the EDU page are the refurb original prices, so they aren't really any cheaper. But, I can also confirm that the refurb prices are normal/lower under the EDU site.
do you know what i really think is going on? apple probably forgot to update the EDU price to reflect the price increase on the regular store
Last model of iMac still in the refurb store is still $1599 EDU [3.1 27"]. Just FYI.

yeah, not sure if Apple forgot to to change the Education Store pricing to reflect the prince increase on their regular site.
