Hi Guys
I was given a old emac awhile ago, I just had the time to play with it but it asks for a pw for log in screen, and there's only 1 account.. The system was used at a school many years ago. I only got a emac for keyboard or anything was wonder how can I go about resetting the pw or logging in.. Only thing i was told was that it was rubbing 10.3.5 or something... New to mac's.
Thx..

this is a way to fix it without disks...

open single user mode (command +s)
mount the drive ( in that version it should tell you right there)
type in this EXACTLY

rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
reboot

this makes the machine think it is new and gives you the setup screen.

i have done this in 10.2, 10.4, and 10.6 so it seems to be universal.
