Have a late 2011 iMac with 256 SSD + 2 TB HD, any way with use of software to turn it into a Fusion Drive?

Late 2008 MBP
Anyone know of a reason why I couldn't do this to my late 2008 Macbook Pro? It's currently modded with a 500GB HDD in the optical drive bay, along with a 128GB SSD. Having these as one volume that worked automatically would be pretty handy.

I have done this with a 128gb ssd and a 1tb hdd in my 2011 mbp, have noticed it is a bit quicker but will prob take a while for the os to work out the apps etc i use most often but it does seem to work perfectly well.

My only concern that is now keeping me from doing this, is if Apple will break the configuration with any OS updates on non-official Fusion Mac models.

So now how does this work with windows under boot camp?
From apple's support document it seems like only the HDD can be partitioned, but what if I wanted a windows partition entirely on the SSD? Could I partition a 256 GB SSD to be say 128GB Mac/Fusion and 128GB windows and then run fusion drive on windows? |
