How do I disable iCal reminders

Is there a way to disable all the iCal email reminders.

I have my iCal synced with my google Calendar which does send me email alerts but I do not use mail as I like the google interface better so I have no intrest in using Mail (I frequently don't have internet access so I like the off line iCal option to the Google one). I looked around for options in iCal to disable emails but can not any.

If it is just disabling your Gmail or other e-mail notifications, you can find that setting under the Preferences within the application.
