iOS Poges open txt files?

I use textEdit on my mac a lot to write a quick line of code to remember later, or just to hold something i'm copy/pasting and may want to reuse. I then save those files to iCloud.

Can I open those files with Pages on my iphone/ipad somehow? I'd like to. It seems a bit odd that I have to make a .pages file to be able to access them. Even on my Mac Pages will only open files I made in Pages, even though its fully capable of opening/saving the textEditor files, it wont see them in the iCloud.
