If you used a chemical to take off the black anodizing and then polished the aluminum, this is what you would get. I thought about it the day I got the new phone, but dont have the balls to do it. Maybe once the novelity of how new and good it looks wears off, or I get a few nice chips or scratches, I will start looking into the process and actually give it a shot.

That's actually a prototype white iPhone 5. Supposedly an early prototype with white front panel and untinted metal backing (seen on the white iPhone) but with black glass at the top and bottom.

I'd love for my black iPhone to have the silver/polished sides. That's the one draw the white version has for me.
