My experience is that the wife annoys me every time she wants to tell me something and I have to take my headphones off.

Like so many others...

Got the iPad Mini, the Smart Cover and another Lightning cable on launch day. 12th in line in the London, Ontario, store. Was on the fence about the Mini before buying it but I'm really enjoying it. So much so, in fact, that if the next version is retina then it may become my only iPad.

Almost forgot...

I also grabbed a new iPod Nano. It was nearly free... Best Buy Reward Zone points had accumulated so I figured what the heck.

For the wife as her iPhone 4 home button takes around 51 presses to get it to work (yes I've tried re-calibrating). I'll have to wait until my phone is out of contract though as my iPhone 4 still works like a charm.

White iPhone 5 16G
Thumb resize.

Also grabbed two of the USB to lightning cables, a spare one for home and one she can take to work.

Thumb resize.

As a pilot, I've always found the iPad a bit large and heavy to use in a cramped cockpit and I have always wanted a smaller iPad. When the iPad mini was released, it seemed to solve my problem, however the lack of retina display made me cautious.

Because of this, I did not pre order and waited until I could use one. Today, I finally had time free to go and check one out at my local Apple shop. After looking at the display for a mere few seconds, I knew I would not be leaving empty handed.

Granted, the screen is not as sharp as a retina display, but it looks a lot better then the iPad two display and is sharp enough for my needs.

So in the end, I picked up a white 32gb WiFi iPad Mini and a light grey Smart Cover. I am very happy with my purchase.

Another iPad mini case (or two).

I preordered the Poetic Slimline Portfolio case. One in red (back view):

And one in black (front view):

And yes, it has the wake/sleep function cover. $4.95 each! And I ordered a red one for my Mommy as well.
