Moving my iTunes to a different MBP

Hi folks, Im intending to transfer my itunes library to a newer MBP and just want to make sure that my method will work before I start?

I currently have 99% of my MP3s stored on a USB HD that is always plugged in when I am playing songs.

Would it be suffucient to copy the entire Music Folder (which should contain the library files right?) on my Laptop Hard drive and paste it into my new laptop replacing the Music folder there?

Then load up itunes, with the USB HD plugged in, will all my playlists etc all show correctly?
