fingers crossed it does come out, coz then I'll get to play with something other than myself tonight!

Thanks for that image.

Now I really hope iTunes 11 comes out so I can get that out of my head.

Anyway, yeah I can't download anything from the store either. But iTunes Match is working for me.

Edit: Everything is working for me now.

i have not seen any issues with the iTunes download website so its probably just a server issue on the iTunes store and not a actual iTunes software update :(

Can't access my iTunes account details either. Everything else seems fine, although iTunes Match is a little sluggish :S

EDIT: It's working again now. hmmmmm

Just some server problems, nothing to see here

Seems too coincidental that the store was experiencing major outages two days in a row. Seems they could be preparing for something. Not necessarily today, but maybe tomorrow.

It would be interesting to know how much money they are losing per second it is down (if you were to assume those people wouldn't return to buy that content).

The answer is roughly $270.43 in revenue per second it is down.

I checked out Apple's 2012 Q1-Q4 Summary Data (links provided). Itunes falls under "Other Music Related Products and Services" which also inclues "...App Store, and iBookstore in addition to sales of iPod services and Apple-branded and third-party iPod accessories".

Total revenue in this category was $8,534,000,000. So doing some simple math that means revenues are about:
Per Day - $23,364,818.62
Per Hour - $973,534.11
Per Minute - $16,225.57
Per Second - $270.43

Q1 Summary:

Q2 Summary:

Q3 Summary:

Q4 Summary:

if they are updating the iTunes store for iTunes 11 most likely we wouldnt see the software update till they are done updating the store correct? so wait and see if we get it once the store returns back to normal function for everyone.

Depends on when they do the update to the update, and if the update works...I'm sure they'll update us when the update is updated.

You guys having iTunes Store problems thinking it means iTunes 11 release are cracking me up, these errors you're posting are commonly seen all the time and usually go away after a refresh or two

The wait is painful but you guys aren't making it any easier

No. The store was down, worldwide and for at least an hour and a half. Multiple clients (iPad, iPhone, Mac, PC).
