What type of discounts do you think we will see for Black Friday next week on the Mac Mini -- either from Apple itself or the 3rd party retailers.

I am going to be buying 2 of the $799, and would love it if last years discount of $100 came true.

Any guesses or bets?

I don't know what was offered last year but did they stack with employee/educational discounts?

Haven't seen the mini on sale anywhere for BF so far. Hoping that will change soon. I don't think the mini was on sale last year at Apple for BF.

The MacMini is never on sale with Apple for Black Friday, you'll get a better deal now if you're eligible for education discount. However, it looks like MacMall is discounting the base model by $25.

where do you see that? I just looked and all I see is $5 off. I'll be looking for a good BF deal on a mac mini this year.

if you buy from jr.com today you get the base mini for 599 and a 25 dollar gift card use code 'thankyou'

then buy 16gb crucial ram for 76 bucks using the 25 dollar gift card. finally link to jr.com with your discover card and get 5% off.

so 599 -5% is 569 for the mini. 76 minus 25 is 51 for the ram. 5% off the 51 is 2.50 so 49 for the ram and 569 for the mini is a total of 628 for a base mini with 16gb ram! deal ends today for the gift card. jr.com has no sales tax and free shipping except for NY.

this deal ends today oh and one more thing if you use the discover card you get an extra years warranty!

https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/member-benefits/extended-warranty.html

so a machine direct from apple is 899 plus tax and a one year warranty.

A machine from jr.com with a 2 year warranty is about 628 why do you need black friday? your savings are more then 300 with the sales tax same machine and you get a 2 year warranty.

Looks like $25 is as much a discount as one can expect. Cash discount is better than a gift card and I don't have a Discover card- some places don't even accept them so you can't count on that working.
I'm wondering if BestBuy will be dealing. Double reward points would be sweet if they would do that. Haven't heard what Apple will do yet..
I think I would go for the $25 cash off at MM if I can get it without tax then that would be a good overall discount.
