I realize this thread is a couple years ago, but I thought it best to latch onto this rather than start a new one. We're starting a small business, and we need an easy-to-use Mac Program to run personal, mass e-mails.
I hope someone has some recommendations! THANKS!

SerialMailer Lite
Just downloaded this (SerialMailer Lite) from the App Store and it seems to work great for bulk mail messages, with a few limitations (only 10 recipients at a time). And it's free.

Thought I'd latch on to. Any updates? I need to send a mass email to about 7000 people.

MaxBulk Mailer
I use MaxBulk Mailer on a regular basis for html newsletters and it never fails.
Very good for organizing and sending to large lists. It even tidies my mailing lists if addresses are corrupt or no longer active. Give it a go, they do have trial versions: http://www.maxprog.com/site/misc/products_us.php |

Wow... I posted in this thread ages ago and just got email notification.
Well, for me - I ended up using phplist for a few years on my webserver. Its pretty good overall. You can throttle your newsletter sends so you don't incur ISP wrath. And its pretty configurable. Free also helps. But now, my list has grown to over 20,000 users and I've gone with something more professional. Madmimi. These guys are awesome. I had a major problem with at least 1000 emails bouncing per send with phplist. That's due to certain mailservers incorrectly marking our emails as spam (users sign up, we never spam!). The nice thing is that Madmimi is considered a 'trusted source' by mailservers - so you will have a much lower bounce rate. They also have drip campaigns, where you can send multiple emails over a length of time... Just everything you might need. And their service is incredible. Email replies to questions within minutes - even on the weekend! Its not cheap, but I'm very happy with it. They also have a free plan that lets you store 2500 email addresses and send 12,500 emails a month which strikes me as incredibly generous... |
