I can bet all of my money that "iPad Mini with Retina Display" will be released next year, perhaps the late 2013. It just fits all current product lines. (iPad, Mac Book Pro)

The question is how much it is.

I bet $429. ($100 premium from regular iPad Mini)

Same internal as iPad4 with higher DPI can't be cheap.
No way Apple will sell iPad Mini with Retina Display at $329.

$329 iPad Mini

$399 iPad (iPad2 with upgrade camera, lightning connector)

$429 iPad Mini with Retina Display

$499 iPad with Ratina Display

Hmm. You might be right. Except that I can't imagine them keeping the nonretina big iPad around for another iteration. Maybe eliminate it entirely. I could also see then getting rid of the nonretina mini and doing retina mini only for $350.

I see what you did there. Well played.

considering the margin on the iPad 3 was less than the iPad 2, i see there being no way that Apple would then be able to sell an iPad Mini Retina for $429 without taking a substantial hit on margin - something that Apple never does and can't do unless they want their stock to plummet
