My son loves playing Extreme Road Trip 2 on my iPhone 4s along with lots of other apps. So a friend of mine gave me his old iphone 3g that I figured I could give to my son for Christmas. The problem is that apple no longer supports the 3g so I'm stuck at iOS 4.2 and most apps require at least 4.3.

Am I SOL or is there a way with whited00r or some type of Jailbreak to get new apps to work on this iPhone 3G??

P.S. your answer determines whether my son laughs or cries on Christmas morning.

How old's your son? Hook him up with an iPod touch.

That's what I was trying to do....only with a free iphone from a friend. I also have a friend with an iphone 3GS which I think is still supported...but that phone will probably be unsupported next year....right?
