[iPhone] Help? DFU and recovery doesn't work?!?

Hi guys, I recently installed Whited00r 5.1.1 on my Iphone 3g, but now I have changed my mind and would rather install redd00r.

Only problem is, I want to restore my Iphone to factory 4.2.1 first to make the process go smoothly, but every time I try to restore it, the screen will switch over to the recovery screen and disconnect itself from itunes, preventing the recovery untill I remove it using Ireb. (It just doesn't show up in itunes after the first try until I fix the recovery, then it does the same thing)

So can anyone help me restore my phone? Also, half the time I try to enter dfu mode it either doesnt work or will go into recovery mode...

Try again to put it in DFU, follow correct instructions, if your timing is off it won't work.

Hold power and home until phone turns off, keep holding bot for another 3 seconds
now release power while holding home for another 10 seconds

it will be in DFU

do a DFU restore in iTunes just hit restore, 4.2.1 is the last signed firmware for the 3G

I tried doing this about 5000 times, and it doesnt work when my phone is in either recovery mode or not... It just reboots or turns off the phone. P.S. I have enter dfu mode several times from both before my iphone got this way, so trust me I cannot enter dfu mode like this sadly...

Could it possibly be an error based around some settings I modified? I did OpenGL ES 2.0 and unlocked it.

You do have it connected to usb when trying to enter DFU?

The only time you cannot enter DFU is when you have a hardware failure.

My guess is somewhere you are going wrong.

Trust me when I say, the phone will not let me enter dfu!
It is perfectly funtioning with whited00r, it just cannot recover!

Do you know any way to bypass this / do a complete reset of my phone?

Yes, but ill try that again
*Did not work, just reboots every time.
The screen will go black and immediatly reshow the apple logo (within a second of dissapearing)
