13" MacBook Air + Cinema Display to replace 27" iMac

Currently I have a 27" mid-2011 iMac (2.7Ghz i5, 20GB RAM, 256GB SSD) and I find myself sometimes wishing I was more mobile. I have an iPad but that is more a toy to me and I am going to be selling it. It's worth mentioning that for storage I have a 4GB LaCie 2Big enclosure.

So I've been thinking of getting rid of my iMac and replacing it with a 13" MBA w/ 8GB RAM (and probably just the 128GB SSD).

I mostly use my computer for web surfing, music, and doing some light to moderate photo editing (18MP RAWs) in Aperture.

Has anyone else made a similar switch? Thoughts?

My other option is to sell my iPad and get a 11" refurb 2011 Air for mobile and couch surfing duties.

Thanks.
