HDMI Cable Suddenly Stopped Working

I have been using a "mini displayport to HDMI cable" since Feb 12 with no problems at all. It goes from my Imac to Samsung TV. It's suddenly stopped working. The TV screen says "mode not supported". Tried different ports on the TV and have run disk utility on the IMac. Any suggestions?

Which model/brand?

I had one go recently, replaced it with a belkin (white polka dots) that has a lifetime warranty.
