Airplay Using AppleTV + Adapter + JBL Creature Speakers

I'm looking to set up Airplay using my 3rd generation AppleTV, an adapter, and my JBL Creature speakers—which I believe use a male 2.5mm audio cable for input (I don't know much about audio cables.)

Does it sound correct that I will need a male-TOSLINK-to-female-2.5mm adapter in order to make this work? If so, where can I find one?

I don't know that anyone makes an adapter that will go directly from Toslink to 2.5 mm. However, there are many Toslink to analog adapters, such as this one from Monoprice. There are lots of available RCA to 2.5 mm adapter cables out there that will finish the job.
