This will be my first time lining up. I talked to the guy on the phone for the Spectrum store and he said coming in around 4:00 A.M - 5:00 A.M is usually a really safe time to get a copy. Is this true from people's experiences either at this store or another apple store?

I mean I know people start lining up days before and etc, but I am ok with waiting a few hours after the store opens on launch day if it means I get a few more hours of sleep.

My first experience with lining up for an iPhone was for the iPhone 4 so I can't comment on 4S.

We arrived at the Rancho Cucamonga store just before 4am. I was nearly the last to receive the iPhone (the line was cut off about 15 people after us). I didn't leave until 1 AM (After midnight) (Yes the store stayed open after hours until about 2 AM)

The activations took longer than expected which caused delays. Hopefully it won't be THAT bad this year...but if I were you I'd arrive around 12am-2am.

Personally, I'm going at 8pm (Norcal location). I figured the line will just get far worse around 10pm-midnight.

Line ends at capital seafood. They handed out cards earlier with the provider/size/color earlier

I like this store. Funny thing is, the Microsoft store in Mission Viejo has copied the look of the Apple stores so well I once mistakenly walked in there to return an Apple product!
