when i got my iphone 5 and ipad mini online for next day pickup, you pay at the time of the transaction online. when you pick it up, its paid for already and they usually scan the card the payment was made with to locate the order. if you fail to pick it up that day, you get credited back and lose the item. you are in and out in 10 minutes usually once you receive and sign for the item.

Unless you do this on a weekend and all the middle age parents show up with their kids and they are so busy...
